On Dynamic Relaxation and Its Application to Static Analysis of Tension Structures

Dynamic relaxation is introduced as an effective numerical technique for study of spacestructures,with emphasis on its application to static analysis of tension structures.This method savesthe effort of formulating and solving the structural stiffness equations, therefore Iess computationaltime and storage are required than that by the finite element method. The numerical stability and rateof convergence are also discussed.
