Origin of the Jadeware Unearthed in the Lingjiatan Graves

TIAN Ming-li
Based on analyses of the Lingjiatan(凌家滩) graves and a lot of archaeological cultures, this ar- ticle contends that the jadeware withherited the tradition of Beiyinyangying(北阴阳营) culture located in the Ningzhen(宁镇) area in Yangzi-Huai valley, and was influenced and permeated by the Dawenkou (大汶口) culture and yangshao(仰韶)culture in the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River, the Hongshan culturein the Northeast area, and the contemporary cultures in the lower reaches of Yangzi River .Thuslingjiatan deserved to be a jadeware center of the Neolithic Age in China
