The Prehistoric Inscription Signs on the Pottery Found in the Lower R eaches of Yangzi River

With the archaeological records, the article makes a systemic reserach of the prehistoric inscriptive signs on the pottery found in the lower reaches of Yangz i River valley and gives new comments on them. The author thinks that most of th ese signs come within the transitional stage of Chinese character development ca reer which stands for a period of primordial chronicle symbols to the appearance of Chinese character as well as demonstrates the lower reaches basin of Yangzi River valley is one of centers of the origin of Chinese civilization.
