Comparative studies on below-ground growth and its relationship with soil moisture of two kinds of natural grassland in loess hilly region

The investigation and determinations of below-ground growth were conducted throughout growth season in two kinds of natural grassland communities: Artemisia gmelinii community and Stipa bungeana community in Ansai,north Shaanxi. The comparative studies were explicated from seasonal variation, vertical distribution, turnover rate of below-ground biomass, relationship between above-ground growth and belowground growth,relationship between below-ground biomass and soil moisture,net below-ground primary production to reflect below-ground growth of natural grassland communities under different site conditions in forest-steppe zone of loess hilly region.
