Study on the protein quality property stability of winter wheat variety

The study was to determine relative contributions of genotype, environment and genotype by environment interaction to variation in protein quality property of winter wheat variety,by the datum analysis of twelve winter wheat genotpyes at thirteen locations from regional trails of winter wheat variety in Guanzhong,Shaanxi province.Genotypes were found to significantly influence on variation in all protein quality parameters.Genotype and environment interactions were relatively larger for sedimentation value,but were smaller for kernel hardness,protein content and wet gluten content.Environmental effects had notably larger influence on variation in wet gluten content and kernel hardness compaed with protein content and sedimentation value.Significant differences among genotype response to environments were observed in the linear regreesion coefficients ( b values) for each quality parameter.There were few instances of significant deviations from regression in quality parameters of kernel hardness,protein content and wet gluten content,indicating that the linear model accounted for much of the variation in genotype response.But some varieties had significant deviation in sedimentation value.Based on these results,environmental influences on protein quality attributes should be an important consideration in variety improvement efforts toward enhancing protein quality of winter wheat variety.
