Heterosis and correlation analysis on some quality characters in wheat

The heterosis,the characteristics correlation and parentoffspring correlation of seed Quality of 6 wheat cultivars (lines) and their 6 hybrids F1 were analyzed.The results were as follows:(1) The dough development time and stability showed a marked heterosis over midparental values by 54.49% and 32.23%,while seed protein content and hardness showed a negative by -2.73% and -0.9046%.The sedimentation value and wet gluten content,by 6.88% and 5.88%,manifested only a slight degree of heterosis,which ranked the middle.(2) The flour water absorption and dough stability time correlated greatly with other qualities.The sedimentation value positively correlated with protein content,but not significantly,while significantly positively correlated with wet gluten content,and wet gluten content significantly negatively correlated with protein content.(3) Zeleny sedimentation in F1 was positively or highly positively correlated with high parent values,low parent values and midparent values.However,grain protein content and wet gluten content was negatively correlated or not correlated with high parent values and midparent values.
