Recovery of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) haploid plants through pollination by irradiated pollens and embryo culture

Cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) haploid plants were successfully recovered from three genotypes through pollination of five genotypes with γ-irradiated pollens and subsequent embryo culture.Comparing with the original diploid plants,the haploid plants grew slower with abnormal flower apparatus.The results obtained indicated that irradiation doses,parental genotypes,and pollination combinations had certain influences on both fruit setting and haploid production.
