XU Guo-hua~(1,2), WU Hua-qing~1, ZHANG Shao-ling~(1,*) (1 College of Horticulture, Nanjing Agricultural University, Nanjing 210095,China; 2 Department of Biology, Jiangsu College of Education, Nanjing 210013,China)
PCR and PAGE were used to determine the S-genotypes of six Chinese pear cultivars compared with Japanese pear cultivars of known S-genotypes. Results indicated that six Chinese pear cultivars tested varied in S-genotype with one another, three of which, 'Xizilu', 'Jinhua' and 'Jinshuisu' had a new S-gene other than S_1~S_7 -gene respectively, which could facilitate the selection of pollinizers in orchard.
