Comparative morphology, ecology and geographical distribution of Calophaca sinica and C. soongorica

The two disjuncted species of Calophaca Fish. ex DC. from China (C. sinica and C.soongorica)were studied, mainly on their morphology, geographical distribution and ecological characteristics, including their leaf epidermal features, pollen and carpodermis morphology and testa features, as well as their distribution pattern and ecological adaptation etc. By combining the changes of ancient geography, climate and vegetation, the origin, morphological differentiation as well as its environmental explanation, and the causes of formation of its modern distribution patterns of the genus Calophaca were discussed. Some measures and suggestions concerning the utilization and protection of resources of Calophaca were also provided.
