Analysis and Appraisal of Heavy Metal Pollution of Main Vegetables Production Area in Shaanxi Province

The pollution degree of heavy metals including mercury,arsenic,lead,cadmium and chromium was analyzed and appraisal according to GB18406.1-2001 in 127 samples from 8 main vegetables production area in Shaanxi Province.The results indicated that lead was the major pollutant in main vegetables production area in Shaanxi Province.Lead pollution was very seriously in the eggplant fruit class and the melon class vegetables,and was relative lightly in the green leafy vegetables.The other 4 kinds of heavy metals were not found excessive in all vegetables.Cadmium was non-detected in samples from different vegetables production area.The order of lead pollution was Qindu XianyangCaijiapo Qishan BaojiHantai HanzhongLinwei Weinan.In Jingyang Xianyang,Taibai Baoji,Chenggu Hanzhong and Dali Weinan vegetables production area,contents of heavy metals mercury,arsenic,lead,cadmium and chromium has not exceeded the national standard.So,these areas have conditions for developing non-environmental pollution vegetables area.
