The floral nectaries of Brassica campestris Linn. consist of two lateral nectaries and two median ones. The basic structure of them exhibited similar features. During the different stages of nectary development, the endoplasmic reticulum, Golgi bodies, plastids and mitochondria in the cells of the nectariferous tissues changes regularly. The numbers of these organellas increased before nectar secretion. Farthemore,the starch grains which accumulated in the plastids and these processes were close related to the differetiation of phloem and increase of mitochondria. The amount of ER reached a maximum at the stage of nectar secretion. Many vesicles derived from ER appeared to be in close association with the plasmalemma. While the number of organellas decreased after the nectar secretion ceased. Meanwhile. the vaculated and shrunk cells occured. It could be concluded from the results that the pre-nectar comes from the sap of the phloem and transported to the plastids,ER and Golgi bodies where it could be processed into nectar in the nectariferous tissues. Finally, the nectar secreted by means of granulocrine combined with excreted secretion.
