Driving or Promoting Force: The Role of Confucian Traditional Culture in the Process of Singapore's Modernization

Although Confucian traditional culture played a significant role in the process of Singapore's economic boom,and its contribution was also various,it was not the driving force of Singapore's modernization,but the best tools to promote the modernization.The role of Confucian traditional culture in the process of Singapore's modernization was to prevent moral disorder,build the national spirit,maintain social order,seek the political theory support and make the uncorrupted and efficient image of the government.Singapore implanted "the true spirit of Confucius and Mencius" in the modernization process and selected what it needed,namely took the Confucian tradition as a historical and cultural resources to reference,choose and use.This may be the modern outlet of Confucian traditional culture.
