Study on the Behavior of Minerals in Coal when Heated up in a Weak Reducing Atmos- phere

He Hui-juan (Shanghai Power Equipment Research Institute)  
A local weak reducing atmoshpere is readily produced when coal is burning in a furnace, which may spur the fusion temperature of ash to drop and thereby cause slagging. The state variation process and characteristics of minerals in coal when heated up at different temperatures in a weak reducing atmosphere is the main topic discussed.Compositions of minerals that may cause slagging are found. The conclusion is drawn that coal with an high irion conten tends to form slag in a weak reducing atmosphere.
