A New Heat Exchange Calculation Method for Large Boiler Furnaces

Tang Bi-guang (Wuhan Institute of Water and Electric Power)  
Based on calculations by the theory of analogy and known experimental data, a significant correction to Doubofski's formula is proposed, obtaining herewith a new formula for heat exchange calculation of furnaces. Two large boiler types are calculated with this formula for five typical kinds of coal. Comparison of calculated results with those using methods given by the Soviet 1973 design code and Doubofski shows that the new formula matches actual test results much better. Fig. 1 tables 2 and refs 5.
