The New Balance Method Based on the Fusion of Multiple Transducers

Balance is a widely used method in plant to reduce rotating machinery vibration. Traditionally the vertical and horizontal vibrations are treated as two independent signals. But rotor whirls in a plane, it should be described with two perpendicular signals. A new method to balance rotor based on the data fusion of the two perpendicular signals is presented in this paper. The relationship between the two signals and the shortcomings of the traditional balance method are analyzed first. Then the new method to find the high point of rotor is given. The method is generalized to the influence coefficient balance method and the harmonic balance method. The efficiency of the new balance mthod is proved by examples in the end of the paper. Figs 5, tables 3 and refs 5.
