New Design Method of Fuzzy and PID Hybrid Controller and Its Application in Power Plant Control System

To improve the control quality of conventional PID controller used in main steam temperature cascade control system, a new design method of fuzzy and PID hybrid controller is proposed by utilizing the advantages of both fuzzy and PID controls and their mutual compensation. The feature of the hybrid control is that the fuzzy controller in the hybrid control has a larger control effect on the main steam temperature when the error of the main steam temperature is large, when the error is small the conventional PID control provides primary control action to the main steam temperature. Moreover, the fuzzy controller in the hybrid control can be designed with a more systematic design method. The industrial application results show that the main steam temperature cascade control system that uses this design method has stronger adaptability and better control performance than that of using traditional design method.
