Research on Vibration Characteristics of a 280 MW Steam Turbine-Generator Foundation by Model Testing

MEI De-qing(Institute of Modern Manufacturing Engineering, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou 310027, China)  
The dynamic behavior of a certain gas-fired power plant's 280 MW turbine foundation has been studied by model testing. The dynamic similarity criteria between the 1:10 scaled modal and the real foundation were first established, which were then used to calculate the parameters of the latter by making use of the model's test results. The linear vibration displacements of the foundation were obtained by model superposition and similarity criterions. Test results show that the dynamic behavior of the 280MW steam turbine-generator foundation is satisfactory and model testing to be an effective way of analyzing its dynamic behavior.
