Numerical Study on Non-uniform Heat Absorption Along Heat Surface Height in the Screen Zone of a Supercritical Boiler

Non-uniform heat absorption along heat surface height in the screen zone of a supercritical pressure boiler was studied using the software Fluent.Results show that the non-uniform heat absorption coefficients along heat surface height of division panel in the upper furnace are nearly linearly distributed,which agree well with the test results and empirical equation for sub-critical boilers.Due to the effect of residual swirling at outlet of the furnace,the non-uniform heat absorption coefficients of high-temperature heat surface in the horizontal flue duct are generally nonlinearly distributed.The highest heat absorbing zone locates at the position with high gas velocity instead of the bottom of the panel.
