An Hierarchic Model for Fuzzy Failure Diagnosis of Rotating Machinery

Abstract Based on an analysis of existing shortcomings of currently used fuzzy diagnosis and expert diagnosis systems,the paper presents an hierarchic model for fuzzy diagnosis. With the help of the proposed model and limited applicable expertise, and based on the inherent significance sequence of the responsive symptoms of the various kinds of failures, a sample library of standard failure types for constructing the hierarchy has been set up; wherewith using fuzzy discriminating methods, the failure mode belonging to the next lower level can being distinguished by means of failure symptoms vectors of the present level. By continuing this proceeding, the failure category is finally diagnosed. Such a way of diagnosing may effecfively raise the reliability of fuzzy diagnosis.
