Experimental Study on Rheological Properties of Coal Water Paste (CWP)

Abstract The investigation of transporting characteristics of Coal Water Paste (CWP) through a pipeline is a very important problem in PFBC wet feeding technique research. On the basis of experimental investigations, the effects of moisture content, particle distribution, kinds of coal and addition of limestone etc. on flowing properties of CWP are analyzed. The results shows that the CWP have good flowing properties at very low moisture content (in this paper, it is 24.3%), when a proper particle distribution is chosen. The addition of limestone decrease flowing drag of CWP in pipeline obviously. The data obtained from experiments shows that rheologic properties of CWP are approximately Binhang fluid at high moisture content but they are approximately Power Law flow at lower moisture content.
