Review of Speed Control Strategies for PMSM Servo Systems

This paper presents a review of the speed control strategies for PMSM servo systems.Firstly,two common decoupling linearization methods are introduced,and the structure of the systems designed by different methods are given.Then the designing of the speed controller is discussed with main concern about the problem of suppressing the influence of uncertainty or variation of system parameters and disturbance.Several modern control methods applied to PMSM systems are reviewed including self-tuning control,self-tuning backstepping methods,variable structure control and robust control.Analysis and comparison are made while prospects of future development are given.
