A CONTRIBUTION TO SOME SEDIMENTARY ENVIRONMEN- TAL BIOMARKERS IN CRUDE OILS AND SOURCE ROCKS IN CHINA

Wang Tieguan (Jianghan Petroleum Institute, Shashi Hubei 434102)
In order to explore the characteristics of palco-environmenial biomarkers in some mature crude oils and source rocks in different continental facies sediments, there presentative mature samples from the Shanganning, Chaidamu, Jianghan and Huanghua Basins (or Depressions) were studied and compared in the present paper. These samples represent the deposits in inland and paralic fresh-brackish water lake, brine lake, inland swampy lake and swamp as well as terrestrial and marine intertonguing environments. The distribution characteristics of some biomarkers in various sedimentary environments are tentatively summarized. There by, Pr/Ph ratio and CPI value are considered as effective macroscopic palaeoenvironmental parameters. Moreover, some long-chain isoprenoid hydrocarbons (CnH2n+2, n20) and stereoisomers of onocerane and serratane could be valuable sedimentary environmental biomarkers.
