Petrogenesis of the Mesozoic potash-rich volcanic rocks in the Luzong basin, Anhui Province: Geochemical constraints

The Mesozoic volcanic rocks of the Luzong are developed in the terrestrial sequential volcanic basin in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River fault depression zone, and are mainly a set of alkaline rich intermediate basic rock association which is predominantly composed of trachybasalt, basaltic trachyandesite, latite and trachyte. Chemically, they are characterized by being rich in alkali, potassium, LILE (e.g., Rb, Th and Pb), poor in HFSE (e.g., Nb and Ti). Among the Mesozoic volcanic rocks around the middle south parts of Tancheng Lujiang deep fault zone and its surrounding area, the features of those volcanic rocks developed in the Luzong basin are much close to those of the shoshonitic volcanic rocks. These rocks have relatively high ISr ratios (0.705 70~0.706 53) and low εNd(t) values (-5.01~-9.96). Based on a comprehensive analysis of their occurring tectonic setting and a synthetical element isotope tracing, the probability of intensive crustal material contamination during magma ascending can be ruled out. The source region of the magma should be enriched mantle (EMⅠ) which was induced by metasomatism of fluids from dehydration of subducted slab, and the potash rich volcanic rocks should be originated mainly from the partial melting of the enriched mantle.
