Geological model of polymetallic nodule deposits based on the CCZ

Based on synthetically evaluation of the existed data of polymetallic ferromanganese nodules(polymetallic nodules)from the Clarion-Clipperton Zone(CCZ)and COMRA contract area,east Pacific Ocean,this paper elucidate the genesis,growth history and main controlling factors of distribution and abundance of polymetallic nodules.According to described definition of polymetallic nodule deposits,a geological model of polymetallic nodule deposits,including 3 different spatial scales models as regional mineralization model(macro-scale),deposit mineralization model(mid-scale)and nodule growth model(micro-scale),is established.The establishment of a geological model of polymetallic nodule deposits based on the CCZ will help to predict and evaluate the potential resources of undiscovered nodules in the CCZ.
