MINERALIZATION GEOCHEMISTRY OF GOLD DEPOSITS IN YIYANG-YUANLING AREA

Liu Yingjun; Ma Dongsheng(Department of Earth Sciences, Nanjing University, Nanjing 210008)Niu Hecai(Guangzkou Branch, Institute of Geochemistry, Academia Sinica, Guangzhou 510640)
The gold deposits occurring in the Yiyang-Yuanling area are divided into four types: single Au, Au-Sb, Au-W and Au-Sb-W. This paper demonstrates the geologic-geochemical characteristics, ore-forming materials and fluids, and the mechanisrm for remobilization and precipitation of ore-forming elements, as well as the origin of energy for mineralization, of the gold deposits. The present systematic studies show that gold mineralization is a procedure of water/rock reactions in an open system with low temperatures. Finally, a geochemical model for gold mineralization is established.
