STUDY ON PETROGENESIS OF ALKALI-RICH INTRUSIVE ROCKS OF ULUNGUR, XINJIANG

Systematical studies of petrochemistry and geochemistry of trace elements and REE and the O, Pb, Sr, Nd isotopic compositions were made on the riebeckite granite, K-feldspar granite, diorite and alkali syenite distributed along the Ulungur deep fault. These rocks are recognized to belong to mantle-derived type alkali-rich intrusive rocks generated by remelting -differentiation of mantle materials. Based on the characteristics of their source materials,petrogenetic conditions and geological settings, the partial melting, multisequence fractional crystallization and assimilation fractional crystallization models have been proposed for the petrogenetic mechanism of these alkali-rich intrusive rocks.
