Permo-Carboniferous rocks and faunas were discovered by the authors in 1980 from the Tsaggar-tso to Duoma district in southern Karakoram (Lat. 34°00'~34°3l', Long. 80°00'~80°30') . The Cameng, Zhanjin and Qudi formations are typical marine Gondwa-na rock units. The Tunlonggongba formaion is composed of both Gondwana and Tethys facies with respectively distinct faunas, whereas the Longge formation is of purely Tethys facies.
