AN INTRODUCTION TO GROUND PENETRATING RADAR——Preface and Postscript to the Current Special Issue

Wang Huilian (China University of Geosciences, Wuhan 430074)  
The fundamentals of the ground penetrating radar technique with its data interpretation , its applications and prospect in the field of engineering geology are introduced in this paper. As a system engineering, from the analysis of the external technique and internal works, the author presents a viewpoint of improving technique, especially interpretation standard in the domain of the designed technique of high frequency electromagnetic wave, the synthetic knowledge of the geology-geography, and engineering-humanity.
