SPECULATIONS ON CONTINENTAL TECTONICS

Continental dynamics and global dynamics are important frontiers of contemporay geological sciences. Based on studying the simultaneous evolution of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and its adjacent basins and synthesizing the recent fruits, the paper analyzes ten basic preblems of continental tectonics, and discusses the main contents of laminar flow tectonics, as fallows(1) the lamniar flow in the deep level of lithosphere results in the uplift and depression in the shallow level; (2) the material cycle process of laminar folw and uplift-depression tectonic; (3) the relation between bed-block tectonics of continent and geothermal field, stress field,(4) the stage development and tectonic superimposition of laminar flow tectonics;(5) the deep process and dynamic source of laminar flow tectonics. Finally, the author suggests that the tectospheres should be distinguished between continental uplift-depression system and continental oeanic system, and orogenic belts and basins should be regarded as a whole during the research of continental tectonics.
