FEM FOR MODELING RESISTIVITY SOUNDING ON 2_D GEOELECTRIC MODEL WITH LINE VARIATION OF CONDUCTIVITY WITHIN EACH BLOCK

According to the study of Xu Shizhe et al (1995), a variational equation and finite element method (FEM) is presented for modeling resistivity sounding on two dimension (2_D) geoelectric model with line variation of conductivity within each block. Solutions of the model show that the method has great calculation precision.
