MANTLE_DERIVED XENOLITHS OF SPINEL_GARNET IHERZOLITE FROM NSHAN AND THEIR IMPLICATIONS FOR PETRO_PHYSICS

Xenoliths of spinel_garnet iherzolite from Nüshan, Eastern China have been studied in terms of comprehensive methods of rheology, petrofabrics and petro_physics. The temperature and pressure equilib ration of the xenolith has been calculated using the TEMPEST program with the two pyroxene geothermometers of Bertrand and Mercier (1985) combined with the geobarometer of Nickel and Green (1985). The temperature and pressure of xenolith yeilds 1100℃ and 1.9GPa (63km). Based on the effective coefficient of compressional velocity of the temperature and pressure, the compressional velocity ( V p) with 7.93km·s -1 has been calculated at in situ conditions of pressure and temperature. These preliminary results provide new constraint on lithospheric layering and petro_physical characteristics in the southern section of Tan_Lu fault.
