Study on mechanism and features of unstable-state displacement of miscible hydrocarbon-gas flooding

Influences of reservoir heterogeneity and dip angle on unstable-state displacement of gas flooding in an oil field have been studied through numerical simulation,adopting dimensionless quantity batch and high-density grid eliminating numerical dispersion techniques,which could identify multiple phase flow patterns.Analysis results indicate that under the influences of oil and gas gravity segregation and viscous cusping,the larger the variation coefficient of heterogeneity,the less sweeping thickness of miscible flooding and the less displacement sweep efficiency during gas breakthrough,while the larger dip angle,the more obvious influences of gravity segregation on displacement and sweep efficiency.When less volume of gas being injected,the larger the dip angle,the better miscible flooding effect,whereas when larger volume of gas being injected,within the restriction of 25 degree,the larger dip angle,the better recovery rate,on the contrary,under the same situation,when the dip angle exceeds 25 degree,with the increment of which,the recovery rate would drop.
