Three dimension well trajectory planning and calculating of horizontal segment in stairs horizontal welsl

In view of inclining capability of motor tools in horizontal wells, we take inclined angle and azimuth angle of start point's and end point's in the stairs horizontal segment as the controlled factors and take vertical depth or closed distance as restricted terms. So we establish three dimension well trajectory planning mathematical models and calculating method in stairs horizontal wells and compile the corresponding software to be used in engineering. According to two spatial curves, this method can apply to well trajectory planning for up-down, steering clear of obstacle and spatial target in the stairs horizontal wells. With the method, the designed well trajectory has many advantages: short closed distance, low cost in drilling, easy to control. This method has already been applied in the stairs horizontal wells in Daqing oilfield.
