Design and making of synthetic cores for laminated and dispersed shaly sands

In order to compose synthetic cores of laminated and dispersed shaly sands, the resistibility model is established. Based on the theory about rock formation in sedimentology and some knowledge in reservoir physics, permeability test of 5 factors and 5 levels for clean sands is carried out using orthogonal test. The results show that the effects on permeability by quality content of different grain sizes of sands and quality content of cementing material are different. The influence order on permeability is: sand content whose grain diameter is less than 0.074 mm, sand content whose grain diameter is between 0.150~0.250 mm, sand content whose grain diameter is between 0.100~0.150 mm, sand content whose grain diameter is between 0.074~0.100 mm and cementing material content. According to the orthogonal test, a new method of making synthetic cores of laminated and dispersed shaly sands is developed.
