Effect of CO_2 stimulation on the exploitation of Samaa heavy oil reservoir in Sudan

Using physical and numerical modeling, we investigated the dominant factors exerting effect of CO2 stimulation on Samaa heavy oil reservoir of Palogue oilfield. The result shows that CO2 stimulation is an effective EOR method for Samaa reservoir. Over low bottomhole pressure will decrease oil exchange ratio. An appropriate soaking time is 16 days. The number of CO2 stimulation cycles should not exceed 3 cycles.
