Well testing model and pressure dynamics for wells located near a finite-conductivity fault in composite reservoirs

A well testing model for wells located near a finite-conductivity fault in a two-zone,composite reservoir was established based on the theory of fluid flow in porous media.The solution considered not only fluid flow across the fault but also transient flow within the fault which had been disregarded in all previous studies.Type curves were plotted and its influencing factors were discussed by the Stehfest numerical inversion method and this model was verified by the field examples.The result showed that the greater the non-dimensional fault diversion,the more concave the curve.The bigger the boundary skin coefficient,the more upward the curve.Non-dimensional fault conductance pressure coefficient mainlyaffected the pressure derivative curve decreased.The mobility ratio,thickness ratio,pressure conductivity coefficient mainly affected the pressure derivative curve rise and fall.The results provide theoretical support for complex reservoir test interpretation with similar boundary conditions.
