AN EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF COMPRESSIVE WAVE VELOCITY AND Q VALUE OF SANDSTONE AND MARBLE

With the wave parameter testing system,we have tested the P—wave velocity and Q value of Sand(?)stone and Marble with various saturation under the hydraulic pressure(0.1—32MPa).The results showthat the P—wave velocity of sandstone and Marble increases with the hydraulic pressure and saturation;the Q value of the Sandstone,increasing with the hydraulic pressure,decreases with the increase of the sat(?)uration.The mechanism of the effects of the hydraulic pressure and pore fluid in the velocity andattenuation of rocks are discussed.
