PRELIMINARY EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS ABOUT THE DIGISONDE PORTABLE SOUNDER-4 AT ZHONGSHAN STATION, ANTARCTICA

In this paper are introduced the working principles and features of the Digisonde Portable Sounder-4 (DPS-4), and the installation and adjUstment at zfiongshan Station ofAntarctica. Preliminary results from the scanning ionograms show that there is a magnetic noon phenomenon obviously in ionospheric F region during austral winter and the Es layer are effected by the auroral particle precipitations. Results from the drift measurements show that the ionospheric movements in cusp region latitude are mainly horizontal, having a systqmatic daily variation with an anti-sunward convection pattern.
