The computation of seismic wave equation pre-stack depth migration costs much time and needs many equipments. The huge parallel computer was greatly welcomed to industry because of its high computational ability. But it is too expensive to expand its customer. The latest massively parallel computer established by Linux on PC cluster, named Beowulf cluster, is a very economical alternative. In this paper, we discussed the implementation of PC cluster for pre-stack depth migration on Mar- mousi model. To be compared, we choose the famous IBM-SF2 as reference to demonstrate the perfor- mance of PC cluster.
