THE SECOND EXPLOITATION OF THE OIL AND GAS RESOURCES IN CHINA

LIU Guang-ding (Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, 100101, China)
In the past 50 years China's oil and gas industry found and exploited these deposits mainlyon Cenozoic terrestrial sedimentary basins. These basins are rich in oil and gas resources. However situation is now serionsly. Where can we find more oil and gas resources? In this second carving out the breakthrough should put on Pre Cenozoic (Mesozoic, Paleozoic, even more older) sea facies carbonate geological bodies. Opening mind, developing geophysical technique extensively and imaging of complex geological bodies are keys to search for sea facial oil and gas deposits.
