Gyeogryeolbi Islands are located in Yellow Sea. They consist of three small islands, which are called the East-Gyeogryeolbi Island, the West-Gyeogryeolbi Island and the North-Gyeogryeolbi Island. They are in the positive gravity anomaly area of Korea peninsula. The Moho depth in this area is about 29 km. The islands are mainly composed of andesitic agglomerates, which are mixtures of andesitic lava and pyroclastic rock fragments with various sizes. The pyroclastic rock fragments comprise quartzite, schist, gneiss, basalt, andesite, rhyolite and quartz. Major joint trend strikes of N10°E~N20°E with almost vertical dips, and the secondary joint trend has the strikes of N70W?N80W with vertical dips. These research results will be the basement of geophysical inversion and setting of geological model for Yellow Sea area.
