The built-in reliability design of marine magnetotelluric instrument

The marine magnetotelluric instrument is used under rigorous seafloor conditions.In order to guarantee theworking efficiency and detecting reliability,the weight and volume of the instrument should be as small as possible,and at the same time,its built-in reliability should also be confirmed.The design aim of the instrument is to get thebest built-in reliability with a minimum design weight.Based on the reliability design theory,every part of the instru-ment is checked on mechanics,the material configuration of the instrument is determined in the light of the mechanicalparameters such as compressive strength,tensile strength,shear strength and modulus and so on.The results of ma-rine experimentation in fields indicate that the built—in reliability design of this instrument is reasonable.
