Mechanism of zigzag dispersion curve of rayleigh waves

From numerical solutions for the Rayleigh equation of multiple layer media,we find that there are severalvalues of the phase velocity which have same frequency.For example,there should be several different Rayleighwaves propagating with different velocities relative to a single frequency.This may be one of the reasons for the oc-currence of zigzag dispersion curves of Rayleigh waves.Furthermore,some problems are proposed this paper for fur-ther studying.
