Experiment observation of torsion wave splitting in anisotropic medium

Shear wave of two vibration mode can be produced in laboratories: the shear vibration and the torsion vibration.In isotropic medium the wave velocity of these two types of wave is identical;however,their vibration characteristics are different.The former exhibits strong polarization characteristic while the latter has no polarization characteristic.Experiment tests indicate that two types of torsion wave with different velocity appear when the torsion wave without polarization characteristic propagates in anisotropic medium,and the velocities are consistent with those of the fast and slow shear wave which are produces when the shear vibration wave is tested.When these two types of torsion wave are received by torsion wave receivers,their phase is not effected by the anisotropic azimuth.Through observation with two homogeneous anisotropic samples,we uncover some propagation characteristics of the torsion wave in anisotropic medium.
