Micro-relief research on active fault in the coast of southeast Fujian and adjacent area

In the coast of southeast Fujian and adjacent area,well develop northeast- trending Changle-Zhao'an fault zone and several northwest-trending faults.On analysis of the micro-relief,this paper deals with the Quaternary activity of faults in the coast of southeast Fujian and adjacent area,and the tectonic stress field in this region since late Pleistocene.The results indicate that: The NE-trending Changle-Zhao'an fault zone is characterized by the micro-relief of vertical and horizontal movements since Quaternary time,and those NW-trending faults are obviously shown by similar micro-relief;These NE- NW-trending faults in this region have undergone two tectonic stages in Quaternary time,i.e.early Quaternary and late Pleistocene;Since late Pleistocene,these NE-trending faults occur with right-lateral strike-slipping,and those NW-trending faults take place of left-lateral strike-slipping,showing the WNW-ESE-trending principal compressional stress of regional tectonic stress field.
