3-D resistivity FEM numerical modeling based on tetrahedral element division under complicated terrain

Undulate terrain causes the underground electric field great change.Resistivity abnormal interpretation under complicated terrain is always attentive.This paper puts forward a cross-division technique based on tetrahedral unit.The divided tetrahedral grids are interwoven each other.Therefore,these alternate variational grids can model all kinds of complicated terrain and geoelectric bodies preferably.Furthermore,3-D FEM(Finite Element Method) algorithm based on the division of tetrahedral grids is deduced by the equations of point electrical source field.Lastly,several examples show this method is effective and has high accuracy.
