Technology of natural gas exploration and evaluation based on well-logging data

ZHANG Fu-ming,ZHA Ming,SHAO Cai-rui,YIN Xing-yao(College of geo-resources and information,China University of Petroleum,Dongying 257061,China)
The degree of natural gas exploration was low in our country though gas is very important for our energy stratagem. As an uppermost method to gain subsurface information,well-logging is a very important and effective method for natural gas exploration. The paper wants to summarize and analyze how to identify and evaluate gas zone mainly based on well-logging data, and also give prospects.First,a variety of well log response in gas zones and their petrophysics basis were summarized briefly.Secondly, qualitative identifying and quantitative evaluating methods or techniques were summed up.Thirdly, the paper aimed at the medium-deep-depth gas and application of advanced well-logging.Lastly,the writers give their viewpoints on fundamental research, selection of well logging suite and combination or cooperation of multi-subject such as geology, seismic, formation testing and so on.
