A general description of matching pursuits decomposition method

Matching Pursuits algorithm is a process in which a series of functions can be chosen from a certain function set to represent a given signal,and the each and every function within the function set is called as an atom.The variety of signal characteristic determines the type of atom which is be used to depict the signal's details accurately,while the greedy algorithm of recursive iteration pursuit makes sure the calculating efficiency is the kernel question of the existence and development of MP method.Around the aspects of building of atom dictionary within MP method,the index searching manner of atom parameters and the fast algorithm within the recursive pursuit process,this paper expatiates the development of MP algorithm.
