Review of space-based FUV aurora/airglow observations

The thermosphere and ionosphere are the primary regions of near space satellite in orbit,as well as the important area where space weather affects human activity so much.Airglow and aurora are important optical phenomena.Their radiation,especially ultraviolet radiation contains fundamental chemical and physical information about upper atmosphere and ionosphere.In this paper,the development of far ultraviolet aurora /airglow measurement and two-dimension detector for FUV are reviewed.Then based on our actual technical level,a proposal for developing our space-based aurora/airglow measurement is presented.
