The research on present-day crustal ovement in the urumqi area

LIAO Xin-yu1,Li Jie2(1.College of Architecture,Xinjiang University,Urumqi 830008,China;2.Seismological Bureau Of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region,Urumqi,Xinjiang 830011,China)
This paper presemts a synthesized processing analysis of present-day high accuracy GPS,leveling and gravity data of the region of Urumqi and detailed discussion of the crustal movement characteristic of the region. We think that crust is cut by numerous faults, each part suffers very nonuniform stresses. The southwest region is more obviously active than the eastern region, all kinds of evidence expresse that the region has the background of middle-strong earthquakes.
